Built by a Bowen parent
What’s for lunch?
A Bowen parent built a free menu app for our school. It takes the Newton Public Schools menus and makes them genuinely useful: filter by your child’s allergens, see tomorrow’s weather and what to wear, and print a week at a time for the fridge.
What it does
Every meal the school serves, laid out day by day for the whole week.
Mark your child’s allergens once and the app flags what is safe, so you are not decoding icons every morning.
Tomorrow’s forecast with a plain-English suggestion — T-shirt, warm jacket for the morning — right at the top.
Add each of your kids so the menus and allergen warnings match the right child.
Make a PDF of the week and stick it on the fridge, if that is more your speed.
Tap the Ask Arrow button and our Bobcat reads out what is for lunch — a hit with younger kids.
